Member Protection Code

The Northern Barbarians engage children and young people through a number of programs.

As a club and more widely as a sport, we take our responsibility seriously in delivering a rugby environment that is caring, nurturing and safe for all participants and ensure child safety is embedded in our leadership, governance and culture. We aim to keep families and communities informed and involved as well as encouraging children to participate in decisions affecting them.

As a sport, Rugby Australia has developed the Child Safe Framework and Safeguarding Children Guidelines which document not only our game’s commitment to child safety but best practice on how to create child safe environments across the game.

These documents also outline how best to respond to allegations of child abuse and equip staff and members with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep our children safe.
